Appointments
We see all patients on an appointment basis and ask that you call in advance so that we may reserve time for you. The office phone number is 843-669-1220. We try to see all patients on time. If an emergency creates a delay, our staff will inform you of the delay and work with you if you are unable to wait and need to reschedule your appointment.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify us as soon as possible.
While most patients are referred by their doctors, we do see patients who are self-referred when appropriate to our specialty.

Emergency Care
In the event of an emergency, go immediately to the hospital designated by your insurance carrier - Carolinas Hospital or McLeod - and your doctor will be notified. If the problem is not too severe, call 843-669-1220 and the staff will relay a message to your doctor. If the emergency occurs when the office is closed, the answering service will notify the doctor on call. For non-emergencies, an appointment can usually be scheduled within 24-48 hours. Urgent problems can be worked in as necessary.
Prescription/Refill Policy
All requests for medication must be called to our office no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Requests received after 4:30 p.m. will be addressed the next working day.
No prescriptions will be ordered or refilled at any time during the weekend or after office hours.
Telephone Calls
We encourage you to call with questions you may have concerning your health care problems. Our staff is trained to answer most questions. If your call requires the doctor to speak with you, please leave a message and the doctor will return your call at the earliest opportunity.
Test Results
Results of tests will be telephoned or mailed to you as soon as feasible unless a return appointment has already been scheduled within a short period of time or you have been instructed to call us back within a specified time. If you have not received a report within a reasonable period of time (for most tests, within a week), please do not hesitate to call our office.
Fees and Insurance
We participate with Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, PPC and State Plan, HMO Blue, Preferred Blue, Companion Healthcare, PHP, Healthcare Savings, Healthsource, Medcost, Cigna, Provident Preferred, PCN and Champus. We will file and accept most group insurance for surgical or hospital care. We do not accept lawsuits as payment for accidental injuries.
In most cases, our staff will work with you to assure that you receive the maximum benefits to which you are entitled, or will work out a payment schedule for you. Please feel free to discuss fees or financial arrangements with our staff at any time.
